The dry is nearly upon us and with it comes the 2015 Tropical Garden Spectacular! Be inspired by everything from gardening and outdoor lifestyle ideas, to landscaping; design and construction, valuable tips on water saving and growing your own food.
Visit the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May to enjoy inspirational plant displays and sales, intriguing exhibits, and a full two day program of gardening advice, entertainment and performances.
This year’s event will excite everyone from the novice gardener to the outdoor lifestyle lover. The weekend will feature a range of performers, edible gardening displays, delicious food stalls, a bar and great coffee, panel discussions, demonstrations, workshops and industry experts including popular gardening guru Costa Geordiadis.
2015 will see the return of our favourites such as the Landscape Olympics and Community Village as well as the introduction of new and exciting features! The Garden Spectacular will include interactive kids’ gardening activities and an incredible Kid’s Corner with a huge entertainment and activities area including jumping castle, face painting, Happy Healthy Harold and so much more!
Living Water Smart experts will provide tips on how to save water in our gardens and once again the event will support the 202020 Vision; aimed at increasing ‘green landscape’ in urban areas by 20%, by the year 2020. We are also ‘Celebrating the Year of Soils’ an opportunity to ‘have a dirty weekend’ and to help promote the importance of maintaining and creating healthy soil.
The Tropical Garden Spectacular is a wonderful community event which showcases a range of local businesses, plant societies and clubs and not-for-profit organisations. Join us to celebrate the best of tropical gardening and our spectacular outdoor Territory lifestyle. There is something interesting, inspirational and beautiful for people of all ages to discover!
