Darwin

Darwin, a tropical city that has a bigger harbour than Sydney, is a unique-friendly-laid-back lifestyle that almost bring you back to memory lane. The calmness yet sophisticated modern city is also one immersed in history as it underwent some hardships to make it to the Asian windows. Everyone has been a part of it and with this, during your visit to the heritage centre, you would be able to see various collection of the Territory’s aviation from its pioneers and all its record breakers during the war. If you are one of those adventurous and into Sabre and Mirage jets, B52 Bomber, Huey Helicopter, this is the perfect place for you to see and explore.

MINDIL BEACH SUNSET MARKETS
Are you into weekly bazaars and markets? This is the ultimate haven for you. From the 25th of April to October, Darwin opens its doors to market goers as they showcase their popular weekly market which features a multitude of stalls from different walks of the earth. From arts to crafts, cuisine and entertainment? Name it, they have it. A combination of great food with an elated atmosphere, one must really experience this. Lastly, before you cap the night away, a good picnic dinner by the beach while the sun spectacularly waves goodnight to you, is a superb experience.

CHARLES DARWIN NATIONAL PARK
If you are a type of a nature tripper, this national park is the best for you to know more about Darwin’s mangrove habitats, relics of Darwin’s involvement in the WWII is also here.

DARWIN CINEMA
If you had a great experience with the superb sunset experience at Mindil Beach, another MUST-DO is the magic of moonlight cinema at the Darwin Waterfront. From the 20th of April to 20th of November, Deckchair Cinema, who happens to be operated by a non-profit Darwin Film society, opens its screens seven nights a week that promptly starts at 6:30pm as being advertised. It’s nice to be early at the venue to experience again the stunning sunset while it kisses the sea and enjoy the tropical garden setting with a memorable meal and drink alongside.

DARWIN FESTIVAL
Wanted to experience a massive feast of music? Darwin Festival is where to go! With an 18-day feast of music, theatre, dance, cabaret and more, you would be able to appreciate why Darwin is the most beautiful tropical city on earth. Enjoy the jolly atmosphere, delicious food and drink stalls plus free performances at the hearts of the arts – The Festival park and venues across Darwin as it runs in the city for three weeks in August.
