The festivities continue this month with the Darwin Festival from August 6th – 23rd.
Australia’s only tropical arts festival first came to life when Cyclone Tracy tore through the Northern Territory’s capital city on Christmas Eve in 1974.
The Festival was designed in 1977 to celebrate not only the revival of the town, but those who stayed to rebuild the community.
Today, Darwin Festival is held over an exciting 18 days and nights, with both local and travelling performances and events including outdoor concerts, workshops, theatre, dance and comedy to name a few.
Make sure you head down to one of the many locations around Darwin this month and check out the live entertainment happening right here in your backyard.
