Andrew Paxinos | Westpac
Aged 19, Andrew Paxinos started his banking career with a fresh face and a drawer full of coins as a part-time teller, before working his way up to assistant manager. After five years, he was headhunted to Westpac Business Banking and has held roles including Business Banking Relationship Manager, Bank Manager and Senior Relationship Manager; helping clients achieve their financial outcomes and goals.
“The most rewarding has been assisting commercial customers through boom and bust cycles, coming out stronger in the end,” said Andrew. “During this time, I spent seven years in the Australian Army Reserves which gave me great pride in serving our country as well as developing many personal skills and mates along the way.”
“The Westpac Darwin Team, based at the Berrimah Corporate Park, is a fantastic group of people from a very diverse background; from lovers of fishing, coffee (iced and hot – judge is still out) camping, food and cars. There’s great rivalry over our passions but one common theme is we are all ‘people’ people. Our team enjoy nothing more than talking to our clients, getting to know them and their goals.”
Australia’s oldest company and first bank, Westpac has a proud 201-year history of giving back to the community; providing financial support through grants programs, support of the Westpac Choppers and Surf Lifesaving Rescue (Darwin’s Rescue Boat) as well as volunteering in the community, including the Daly River floods and Cyclone Marcus.
“The best part of doing business here is that people are so passionate about the Territory. Business owners are clever and forward-thinking which is great, but ultimately, they’re seeking growth in their unique business and the community as a whole, which is wonderful.”
“We have a great presence in the Territory. ‘Our Service Promise’ sets out what it means to deliver consistently great service for clients and it’s our commitment to help now, and in the future.”
